Betsey Smith Obituary

Betsey A. Smith, 77, of Brandenburg, died on Monday, Jan. 12, 2015, at Baptist Health.
She was a retired school teacher for the Bullitt County Board of Education. She was also a member of Mount Eden Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Emmett Smith Jr.; children, David Jones, Jay Porter, Edward Bruce Smith; parents, Wickham Corwin Tyte and France Downs-Tyte; brother, Corwin Tyte; and sister, Naomi Tyte.
She is survived by her children, John (Louise), Frank (Jean), Ricky (Kaye) Smith, Rebecca Lohden, Melanie (Steve) Sherrard and Margaret (Terry) Compton; 16 grandchildren; and a host of great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 17, at Hardy-Close Funeral Home in Shepherdsville with burial in Knob Creek Cemetery. Visitation from Noon until 8 p.m. on Friday and after 9 a.m. on Saturday.
