James Hoagland Obituary
He was a lifelong resident of Lebanon Junction. He retired from International Harvester after 38 years, where he was known as 'Heavy' or 'Bear.'
He was preceded in death by his wife, Teresa Marcella (Bitty) Bowman Hoagland; son, James (Jerry) Hoagland; great-grandchild, Aiden; son-in-law, Craven Durham; parents, James and Oma Shuffitt Hoagland; and brothers, John, Carlos and Billy Hoagland.
He is survived by his care tenders: his daughters, Rose Durham of Bardstown, Maria (Wayne) Burba of Boston, Cecilia (Joey) Hodge of Shepherdsville; grandson, Tony (Tiffany) Burba of Bardstown; granddaughters, Marcie (Berry) Boblitt of Cox's Creek, Teresa Jean Hodge of Shepherdsville and her fiance, Ricky Shaw of Lebanon Junction; and great-grandchildren, Austin, Kayleigh and Brad Burba and Savannah and Hayden Boblitt.
He is also survived by a daughter, Christine (Les) McIntosh of Shepherdsville; grandchildren, Emily McIntosh, Beth Hoagland and Chris Hoagland; great-grandchildren, Nathaniel Richardson, Brandon McKnight and Carly Legere; his sister, Patty (Lee) Bratcher of Panama City Beach, Fla.; and a brother, Freddy Hoagland of Campbellsville.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, July 12, at Kappel Funeral Home in Lebanon Junction with Bro. Mike Rodgers officiating. Burial will be in Lebanon Junction City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. on Monday, 1-8 p.m. on Tuesday and after 9 a.m. on Wednesday.
The family would like to express their deep appreciation and gratitude to all staff and care tenders at Elmwood Care Center of Elizabethtown. In lieu of flowers, contributions may go to the WHAS Crusade for Children.
