MAPLETON - Owen Earl Aldridge, age 82, of Mapleton passed away peacefully at 7:10 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 14, 2010, at his home surrounded by his family.
He was born Jan. 17, 1928, in Peoria to Edward and Sadie (Dubree) Aldridge. He married Lois Bengard on Feb. 8, 1947, in Arkansas.
She survives along with two daughters, Valerie (John Luster) Aldridge of Mapleton and Kathy (Pat) Howard of Mapleton; two sons, Larry (Bobbi) Aldridge of Mapleton and Kent (Delia) Aldridge of Palatine; nine grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and four sisters, Marge, Elsie, Romaine, and Bernice.
Owen was a WWII Navy veteran.
He worked for Keystone Steel and Wire in the nail mill for 42 years, retiring in 1989.
He was a member of the Jayco Club and the Keystone Square Dance Club.
Cremation rites have been accorded.
Schmidt-Haller Burial and Cremation Services in Peoria is in charge of arrangements.
There will be no public services.
Memorials may be made to the St. Benedict's Abby in Bartonville.

We are so sorry to hear of your loss. We remember the good times camping and that wonderful restuarant in Florida. You have our deepest sympathy. You know he is in a better place.
