SMITHFIELD - Donald L. Hall, age 68, of 7339 E. Co. 14 Highway, passed away at 8:31 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 10, 2013, at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria.
He was born Dec. 19, 1944, in Canton, the son of Harvey and Charlotte (Wilson) Hall. He married Margaret Harp on Aug. 6, 1966, at Temple Baptist Church in Canton. She survives.
Also surviving are three children, Tammy (Eric) Mullins of Pawnee, Donald Hall Jr. of Lynchburg, Va.; and Angela (Jeff) Durbin of Kincaid; six grandchildren, Brittany Reardon, Sammy Jo Reardon, Brandi Reardon, Zachary Hall, Kyle Durbin and Luke Durbin; two sisters, Louann (Ron) Lord of Clinton and Melody (Lee) Romine of Smithfield; a sister-in-law, Elizabeth Hall of Texas; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and one sister.
Donald retired after 17 years from Keystone Steel & Wire Co. in Bartonville. He was also a bricklayer and farmed for many years. He had previously worked at AMAX Coal Co. and for International Harvester Canton Works.
Donald served his country in the U.S. Army from 1963 to 1966.
He was a member of Brock United Methodist Church in Smithfield. He was a member of the Bricklayers Union Local 8. He was a former Fulton County Board member, Bernadotte Township Trustee and athletic director for Smithfield Little League.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 14, at the Henry-Lange Memorial Home in Lewistown, with Pastor Ellen Dodd officiating. A military service will be conducted at the memorial home, following the service, by the Lewistown VFW Post 5001 and the Lewistown American Legion Bishop Post 1. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 13, at the memorial home. Cremation will be accorded following the service.
