EAST PEORIA - Cleo E. Ferguson, 92, of East Peoria passed away at 9 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 16, 2014, at UnityPoint Health-Methodist in Peoria.
Cleo was born June 10, 1921, in Tuscola, Ill., the daughter of Daniel W. and Doris M. Milstead Watters. She married Sims Ferguson on Nov. 1, 1938, in Galopolis, Ohio. He preceded her in death on Aug. 31, 1997.
She is survived by one son, Glen (Debra) of East Peoria; three daughters, Marie (Harold) Butler of East Peoria, Linda (Dale) Wiesehan of Peoria, and Carolyn (Tim) Maltby of East Peoria; 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; four sisters, Pauline Spraklin of Peoria, Hilda Frank of Wisconsin, Connie Hochstetler of Pekin and Patricia Rothenberg of Pekin; two sisters-in-law, Betty Watters of Chillicothe and Cecelia Watters of Creve Coeur; and three brothers, Gerald (Rita) Watters of Colorado, Clint Watters of Texas, and Andrew Watters of Arizona. Cleo was also preceded in death by her parents, one son, David, and four brothers.
She was a member of Cross Point Church in East Peoria.
She was a past member of the Mary Martha Sewing Circle at the old Pleasant Hill Mennonite Church and the Red Hats Society.
Cleo was an avid gardener and a great cook.
Funeral services will be at 12 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2014, at Cross Point Church. Dr. George E. Hines will officiate. Visitation will be two hours prior to services, also at the church. Burial will be in Swan Lake Memory Gardens in Peoria.
Memorials may be made to her church or the Parkinson's Association.
The family requests that no floral arrangements containing chrysanthemums or lilies be sent due to allergies.

We are so sorry to hear of your loss. Cleo was a wonderful, giving person with a beautiful "light up the room" kind of smile. Hopefully the sorrow will pass to be replaced with loving memories. Our prayers are with you and
