GROVELAND - Annie L. Allen, age 88, of Groveland passed away Tuesday, June 16, 2009, at 2:05 p.m. at her residence with her family by her side.
She was born March 11, 1921, in Louisville, Miss., to Homer and Lulu (Thompson) Eaves. She married Albert B. Allen on Dec. 25, 1938, in Louisville. He passed away Dec. 29, 1996, in East Peoria.
She also was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers and one son, Benny Allen.
Survivors include two daughters, Linda (Charles) Owens of Marquette Heights and Johnnie (Larry) Leemon of East Peoria; four sons, Charles (Candy) Allen of Mount Vernon, Iowa, Albert D. (Patricia) Allen of Groveland, Victor Allen of East Peoria and Terry Allen of Groveland; 13 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; three sisters; and two brothers.
Annie worked at Morton Pottery and Libby's during the 1960s and 1970s.
She was a member of Springfield Road Baptist Church in East Peoria.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Friday, June 19, 2009, at Remmert Funeral Home in East Peoria. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. Friday until service time at 1 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Groveland Mennonite Cemetery.
