PEORIA - Lain Johnson, 82, of Peoria died at 1:26 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 20, 2014, at the OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria. Lain was born on March 24, 1932, in Tennessee to Eldridge and Samantha Johnson. He married Delphia "Marie" Feazell on Dec. 3, 1949. They recently celebrated 65 years of marriage. He is survived by his wife; two sons, Roy Charley of Quincy, Ill., and Timothy (Karen) of Peoria; one grandson, Samuel of Peoria; a stepgrandson, Tim (Stephanie) Spenny of Peoria; three great-grandchildren: twins, Alaina and Olivia Johnson, and Charli Sue Johnson, all of Peoria; and numerous nieces, nephews and beloved family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his brother, Toulon (Christine) Johnson; his twin brother, Swain (Della) Johnson; his daughter, Sereta Joan; and one grandson, Lain Jr. Lain moved from Tennessee to begin his 30-year career at Caterpillar, retiring in 1980. He was a life member and past master of the Masonic Temple Lodge 46 and the Mohammad Shrine in Peoria. He also drove the van for the Shrine, taking children to the hospital. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, working in his yard, traveling with his wife, watching his beloved Cubs, going to auctions and reading Western novels. The family would like to personally thank all the nurses and staff at the OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home for their patience, kindness and caring nature. We will forever be grateful. Funeral services will be handled by Magnolia Funeral Home in Cornith, Miss. Burial will be in Center Hill Cemetery in Counce, Tenn. Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice. Jones, Orva - Washington  
PEORIA - Orva V. Jones, 95, of Washington, formerly of Peoria, died at 5:49 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 17, 2014, at UnityPoint Health-Methodist in Peoria. She was born Sept. 9, 1919, in Bloomington, Ill., to Louis R. and Kathryn (Pflum) Alvey. Surviving are her four sons, Alvey (Domenica) Jones of Ann Arbor, Mich., Chuck Jones Jr. of East Peoria, Jack Jones of Phoenix, Ariz., and Rex Jones, also of Phoenix, Ariz.; one daughter, Becky (Michael O'Rourke) Jones of Madison, Wis.; 11 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Rex (Barbara) Alvey of Wooster, Ohio, and Harry (Penny) Alvey of Pharr, Texas. She was preceded in death by her siblings Irvin Alvey, Lucille Lawalin, Louis Alvey Jr. and Kenneth Alvey. Orva was a waitress, working at the Bishop's Cafeteria (later Bishop Buffet) in Peoria until it was closed. She then went to Bloomington at worked at the Bishop's there until it was closed. She loved roller skating and bicycling and continued to ride until the age of 90. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday, Dec. 22, 2014, at Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel in Peoria. The Rev. Elliot Renfroe will officiate. Burial will follow in Parkview Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
