Anita was a wizard in her garden, a fanatical Cubs fan and a competitive Pinochle player. She was a kitchen queen to her family with her Mexican food creations and baked delights, being sought out by those who knew her. She was most recently a coupon queen and enjoyed her close circle of companion spirits! Among her many adventures in life, she convinced Jose to join her belly dancing troop and to cater Mexican food. Due to her love of country, she was a supporter of the Huntington Tea Party.

With Jose, over 16 years, she shared her love with over 53 foster children and adopted seven. Jose and Anita were awarded Foster Parents of the Year from the State of Indiana and Iowa. Anita shared her humor, opinion and care with all. She never made friends - she made family.
