BARTONVILLE - Carole L. Alden, 77, of Bartonville, Ill., died Monday, April 30, 2012, at her residence, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born March 14, 1935, in Peoria, Ill. She was the daughter of Harry and Zella (Howell) Steiner. Carole married E. Leon Alden on July 25, 1968, in Peoria, Ill.
He survives, along with four children, Christy (Larry Friend) Roberts of Peoria, Sue (Ron) Armstrong of Bartonville, Scott (Diana) Alden of East Peoria and Billy (Annita) Simpsen of Brereton, Ill. She has six grandchildren, Ashley Simpsen, Billy Rieck, Nicole Kraus, Shannon, Dion and Sarah Alden. There are two great-grandchildren, Brayden Allen Rieck and Dallas Nau. She has one brother, Wayne Steiner of Minnesota.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Ellen and Lois.
Carole was a former co-owner of Lewis Cabinet in Peoria, working over 30 years, retiring in 2000.
She enjoyed oil painting and fine needle work.
She attended First English Lutheran Church in Peoria.
Funeral services will be Friday, May 4, 2012, at 11 a.m. at the Davison-Fulton Bartonville Chapel. The Rev. Dr. James Lillie will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral chapel. Cremation rites will be accorded following services, and her remains will be buried in Lutheran Cemetery at a later date.
Memorials may be made to the Central Illinois Children's Hospital.
