C.R. Alexander

PEKIN - C.R. "Ron" Alexander, 80, of Pekin, Ill., passed away at 11:10 p.m. Sunday, April 20, 2014, in the emergency room at Pekin Hospital.

Ron was born Dec. 16, 1933, in Pekin, Ill., to Don and Annette (Storer) Alexander. He married Eva Zimmerman on Feb. 14, 1953, in Eureka, Ill.

Preceding him in death were his parents; one grandson, Daniel E. Martinez; and one son-in-law, Jerry Humphrey.

Surviving are his wife, Eva of Pekin; one son, Carey Alexander of Pekin; three daughters, Becky Humphrey of Liverpool, Ill., Lori (Bob) Sexton of Pekin and Renee Alexander of Pekin; one sister, Barb Mann of Pekin; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Ron was a veteran of the United States Army.

He worked at Caterpillar as a tool and die maker for 30 years, retiring in 1983. He owned and operated C.R. Alexander Accounting and C.A.R. Financial from 1967 to 2014.

He was a member of the Jaycees, Pekin Moose Lodge 916, Pekin Elks Lodge 1271 and the South Side Business Association.

A memorial service will be at 7 p.m. Thursday, April 24, 2014, at Henderson Funeral Home & Crematory, with the Rev. Judy Doyle officiating. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Cremation has been accorded.
