Daniel Alexander

WASHINGTON - Daniel "Danny" T. Alexander, 74, of Washington passed away at 11:33 a.m. Tuesday, June 3, 2014, at UnityPoint Health-Proctor in Peoria.

Danny was born on Oct. 17, 1939, to John and Leona Roe Alexander in Creve Coeur, Ill.

Danny attended Pekin Community High School.

He took great pride in serving as a military police officer in the United States Army from 1959 to 1963. He worked for Scrivner Food Distribution in East Peoria for 42 years.

He was a lifetime member of the National Rifle Association.

Danny is survived by one brother, Michael Alexander of Sunnyland; one sister, Dorothy Mock of Bloomington; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Jim Alexander, Junior Alexander, Iona Ranken, Marcella Chambers, Floyd Alexander, Stewart Alexander and Bobby Alexander.

There will be a funeral service for Danny on Saturday, June 7, 2014, at 10:30 a.m. at Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington. Pastor Howard Love will officiate. There will be a visitation one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will be at Parkview Cemetery in Peoria.
