PEKIN - David D. Falco, 72, of Pekin passed away at his home, surrounded by loved ones, on Tuesday, Jan. 14, 2014.
Dave was born April 27, 1941, in Herron, Ill., to Alene Wallace and Anthony Falco and then was raised by Alene and Harold Potts. Dave married Mary Martindale on Nov. 14, 1988. She survives.
Dave is also survived by his children, David Falco, Michael (Donna) Falco, Trisha Prescott and Nicole (Tim) Falco-Creech; sister, Sherry Burroughs; 11 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Dave was preceded in death by his parents; stepfather; twin brother, Dennis Potts; sister, Diane Potts; and stepson, Eric Edgington.
Dave was an avid drag racing enthusiast and spent many years racing with his family.
He served in the U.S. Army in the '60s.
He owned and operated D&D Speed and Machine for more than 20 years with his twin brother and friend, Rich Budde. During this same time, he also owned and operated Midstate Dragway in Havana. He then went to work for Ivex of Peoria as the assistant plant superintendent, where he retired after 25 years of service.
There will be no services for Dave. Instead, the family has decided to have a celebration of life. The celebration will be at the Pekin Boat Club in Pekin, Ill., on Saturday, Jan. 18, from 1 until 5 p.m.
