Dorothy Stevens
PEORIA - Dorothy L. Stevens, 84, of Peoria, Illinois, passed away Monday, December 4, 2017, at the OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria.
Born July 11, 1933, in Depue, Illinois, to Joseph and Victoria Wozniak, she married Edward Stevens on July 26, 1963, in LaSalle, Illinois, and he preceded her in death on February 13, 2005.
Also her preceding in death were her brothers, Robert and Raymond; and her sister, Dolores.
Surviving are her sons, Rich Higgins of Peoria and Tom (Kim Scheirer) Stevens of Santa Maria, California; and her three grandchildren, Kyle, Kevin and Megan Stevens. She loved her grandchildren very much and was known to them as Grandma Boo.
Dorothy enjoyed working at the former Commercial National Bank in Peoria, the Hiram Walker's Distillery and the Reservoir Senior Nutrition Site.
She always enjoyed her snowbird trips to California and, while there, she was a member of the Scarlet Ladies of Oasis Chapter 63887 and the St. Louis Demontfort Parish Fifty Plus Club.
There will be a memorial mass this Saturday, December 9, 2017, at 10:30 a.m. at St Jude Catholic Church in Dunlap in her honor. Cremation has been accorded by Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel in Peoria. Inurnment will be at the Dudley Hoffman Memory Gardens in Santa Maria, California.
Memorials are suggested to the OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria.

My condolences for your loss. Actually, a loss for all of us. I always enjoyed seeing your mom. She always had some story or opinion that would always make me laugh. Though she's in a better place now, it unfortunately won't prevent us from missing her. Hope you and your family are doing better.

Ron and I have felt you and Richards pain in the loss of your mom. She was such a lovely and good person. We had a lot of good laughs and good times when we were with her. She will be deeply missed with all the get togethers with family.
