Ed Evans

TREMONT - Ed Evans, 65, of Tremont passed away at 6:15 p.m. Friday, Nov. 15, 2013, at Timbercreek Rehab & Health Center in Pekin.

He was born May 6, 1948, in Lincoln to Ralph J. and Gladys Wiseman Evans. He married Bonnie Ferree on Sept. 24, 1972, in Minier and she survives.

Also surviving are his mother, Gladys Evans of Tremont; two sons, Scott (Angela) Evans of Washington and Michael "Mike" (Jami) Evans of Tremont; two granddaughters, Brooke and Paige Evans of Washington; and one brother, Jim (Sue) Evans of Tremont.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Ed retired from the Pekin Post Office.

He served in the U.S. Air Force during Vietnam.

Ed's love and passion for music began in high school, where he learned to play the guitar. Throughout his life, he played in numerous bands, including, Excels, Reunion and Thunder River.

He loved spending time with his family, especially his granddaughters.

His funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 19, 2013, at Davis Mortuary in Tremont followed by military honors. Pastor John Schurter will officiate. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at the mortuary. Cremation will be accorded following the service.
