PEORIA - Francis B. "Frank" Alaksiewicz, 73, of Peoria passed away at 11:37 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 16, 2012, at his home, surrounded by his family.
He was born on Nov. 24, 1938, in Warsaw, Poland, and was adopted by Bruno and Marie (Gabrysiak) Alaksiewicz. He married Carolyn Louis on June 11, 1966, in Benson, Ill.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one son, David.
Surviving are his wife, Carolyn of Peoria, and four sons, Matthew of Peoria, John of Riverton, Utah, and Mark and Mike, both of Peoria.
Frank served in the U.S. Army during peacetime.
He worked for the U.S. Postal Service and then as a lab technician at The National Center for Agricultural Utilization Research in Peoria, retiring in 2000.
Frank was a member of the Holy Family Catholic Church in Peoria.
A memorial Mass will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 24, 2012, with visitation one hour prior to Mass at Holy Family Catholic Church in Peoria. Fathers Luke Poczworowski and John Grigus will officiate. Davison-Fulton-Woolsey-Wilton Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
