Harry Turner

CHILLICOTHE - Harry R. Turner, 83, of Chillicothe passed away Tuesday, April 16, 2013, at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria.

He was born Oct. 20, 1929, in Lacon, Ill., the son of Everett and Cecil (Finkenbinder) Turner. He married Donna Utter on May 5, 1956, in Pekin, Ill.

Harry is survived by his wife; two daughters, Mindy (Horrell) Baker of Winder, Ga., and Diana Rankin of Glendive, Mont.; two grandsons, Cory Brown of Winder, Ga., and Daniel Rankin of Amarillo, Texas; and two granddaughters, Haley Brown of Roy, Wash., and Dana Rankin of Manhattan, N.Y. Also surviving are several nephews and nieces.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, one brother and three granddaughters.

Harry served in three major battles during the Korean War.

He retired from Caterpillar Mossville in 1994.

Funeral services will be at 12 noon Saturday, April 20, 2013, at Weber-Hurd Funeral Home in Chillicothe, with visitation held two hours prior to the service. The Rev. Raymond Harrison will officiate. Burial will be in the Chillicothe City Cemetery. Military rites will be conducted.
