CANTON - Hobard G. "Bart" Lynch, 77, of Canton passed away at 4:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 22, 2012, at his residence.
He was born on Sept. 7, 1935, in St. Louis County, Mo., to Dow and Ethel Perkins Lynch. They preceded him in death. Bart married Eleanor Brown on Feb. 1, 1958, in St. Louis County, Mo. She survives.
Also surviving are one daughter, Pam (Scott) Riser of Leander, Texas; five grandchildren, Ellen (Nick) Albers, Brian Boothe, Adam Boothe, Emily Lynch and Katy Lynch; and daughter-in-law, Paula Lynch of Lorena, Texas.
He was also preceded in death by one son, Robert; one brother, George; and three sisters, Jerrell Marre, Iras Shaver and Barbara Allen.
Bart served in the U.S. Navy. He then worked for Philips North America as a salesman, retiring in 1994, later worked for Kroger and lastly worked for the Peoria Park District Golf Courses.
He was a member of the Evangelical Free Church in Canton, the Hilton Masonic Lodge and was an avid golfer.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Nov. 3, 2012, at 11 a.m. at the Evangelical Free Church in Canton, with a visitation from 5 to 7 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 2, 2012, at the Oaks-Hines Funeral Home in Canton. Cremation rites will follow the services, with a burial of ashes with military honors at the Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen, Texas.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Evangelical Free Church Building Fund.
