PEORIA - James H. Davis, 81, of Peoria, Ill., passed away at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday, March 20, 2014, at UnityPoint Health-Methodist.
James was born on June 2, 1932, in Frankford, Mo., to Jessie James and Elenora (Blackwell) Davis. He married Marjorie Davis on July 29, 1983, in Hannibal, Mo.
James is survived by his wife of 30 years, Marjorie Davis; two sons, Henry (Sally) Blackwell of Quincy, Ill., and Sheldon Davis of Chicago; one daughter, Linda Davis of Peoria; four brothers, Gaylon (Kara) Davis of Ottumwa, Iowa, Carlos (Renee) Davis of Hannibal, Mo., Mike (Elaine) Davis of Quincy and Jim (Kris) Davis of Los Angeles; two sisters, Doris Ann Keys of Peoria and Jessica Davis of Hannibal, Mo.; and a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Junior Campbell and Wayne Campbell; and two sisters, Barbara Williams and Della Mae Campbell.
James was a U.S. Army veteran, serving during the Korean conflict.
He worked at Sears & Roebuck as a forklift driver and was an 18-wheel driver for American Recreation Products Inc.
Funeral services will be held at 12 noon on Friday, March 28, 2014, at Sovereign Grace M.B. Church, 1501 W. Martin St., with a visitation beginning at 11 a.m. The Rev. Eddie Jackson will officiate. James will be buried in Camp Butler National Cemetery.
