PEORIA - Justin Sean Thompson, 30, of Peoria passed away at 12 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 5, 2014, at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center.
He was born on Jan. 5, 1984, in Peoria to the late Albert Cox and Lynda Thompson.
Justin was a true mama's boy who made sure that his mother was taken care of. Along with loving his mother, he loved his children. Although he was the youngest brother, he would often tell his older sisters what to do. Justin was a hard-working, kind and gentle man who will be truly missed.
He leaves to cherish his precious memories his loving mother, Lynda Thompson of Peoria; one son, Trae Thompson of Peoria; one daughter, Cassidee Cecil of Peoria; one brother, Stephen Cox of Sacramento, Calif.; five sisters, Monique Crooks-Stayton of St. Louis, Mo., Irene Smith of Galesburg, Ill., Yvette (Nazim) Casey of Oakland, Calif., Yatisha Sturdivant of Atlanta, Ga., and Jasmyne Providence of Peoria; along with a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends who loved and adored him.
Justin was preceded in death by his father, one brother and one sister.
A memorial fund to help defray Justin Thompson's funeral expenses has been set up at CEFCU.
The home-going services celebrating Justin's life will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 14, 2014, at New Cornerstone Baptist Church, 3609 W. Harmon Highway, Peoria, Ill., with visitation commencing one hour prior at 10 a.m. Dr. Mark McConnell will officiate. Justin will be laid to rest in St. Mary Cemetery in Peoria.
Arrangements were made especially for Justin's family and professionally directed by T.W. Parks Colonial Chapel.
