Kermit Danner

MACOMB - Kermit E. Danner, 84, of Macomb, formerly of Adair, passed away at 4:30 a.m. Saturday, March 15, 2014, at Cottage Hospital in Galesburg.

He was born on May 28, 1929, in Macomb, the son of Verne H. and Mary English Danner. He married Norma Pennington on April 2, 1950, in Adair. She survives.

Also surviving are two sons, Kevin (Karen) Danner of Table Grove and Stan (Elaine) Danner of Table Grove; two granddaughters, Kelly McKinley of Table Grove and Jennifer (Ben) Boyer of Tennessee; two grandsons, Wes (Nicole) Seward of Macomb and Kyle (Miranda) Seward of Table Grove; and seven great-grandchildren, Allison, Brent, Avrey, Christella and Maisson Boyer of Tennessee and Emrey and Aiden Seward of Macomb.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Kermit graduated from Adair High School. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy in October of 1951 and served four years aboard the USS Curtiss. He and his sons had a farming operation until December of 2000.

He was a member of the Wesley United Methodist Church of Macomb, Macomb Elks Lodge 1009, Macomb American Legion and Macomb VFW.

Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 19, 2014, at Clugston-Tibbitts Funeral Home in Macomb, with the Rev. Dr. Howard White officiating. Visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial of ashes will be in Pennington Point Cemetery, west of Adair, with full military rites being conducted by the Macomb American Legion and the Macomb VFW. Cremation rites have been accorded.

Memorials may be made to the Wesley United Methodist Church or the Macomb American Legion.
