Lawrence LeTourneau

EAST PEORIA - Lawrence E. LeTourneau Jr., 70, of East Peoria passed away at 9:25 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 18, 2013, at Proctor Hospital.

Lawrence was born on Sept. 1, 1943, in Peoria to Lawrence E. Sr. and Leone (Toutant) LeTourneau.

He is survived by his mother, Leone McCaslin of Peoria; his son, Ryan (Keely) LeTourneau of Morton; two sisters, Mary Kay (Hylee) Kemp of Peoria Heights and Susan (Al) Ziegler of Peoria; and four grandchildren, Troy, Victoria, Kinnedy and Peyton.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Lawrence was a Navy veteran, serving from 1961 to 1964, including during the Bay of Pigs. He later worked for Caterpillar in engineering releasing.

He was a member of St. Monica Catholic Church. He was also a member of the Bartonville American Legion and the Knights of Columbus, Spalding Council 427, Third Degree; and he was a life member of the VFW.

Lawrence loved hunting and fishing.

A memorial Mass will be at 2 p.m. Monday, Sept. 23, 2013, at Resurrection Chapel. Father Steve Willard will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the Mass at the chapel. Cremation rites have been accorded. Burial of cremains will be in Resurrection Cemetery. Wright & Salmon Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
