MORTON - Leona M. Eaton-Orr, 91, of Morton passed away at 12:10 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 6, 2013, at the Morton Villa Healthcare and Rehabilitation Centre.
She was born July 10, 1922, in Morton to Daniel W. Sr. and Anna (Ladendorf) Gunther. She married William Howard Eaton on July 3, 1941, in Cincinnati, Ohio. He preceded her in death on Sept. 27, 1975. She later married Edward Carl Orr Jr. on June 23, 1990, in Morton. He preceded her in death on Nov. 8, 2011.
She also was preceded in death by two sons, Gary Eaton and William Howard Eaton Jr.; two brothers; and two sisters.
Surviving are two sons, Larry (Marsha) Eaton of Galesburg and Thomas (Cindy) Eaton of Morton; one daughter, Kasandra (Steven) Rickey of Groveland; her stepchildren, Edward (Carol) Orr III and Gary (Judy) Orr, both of Peoria, Suzanne (Melvin) Naramore of East Peoria, Yvonne Richards of Wynmoor, Pa., and Caren (Bob) Lumley of Phoenix, Ariz.; 14 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; 15 stepgrandchildren; 13 stepgreat-grandchildren; one stepgreat-great-granddaughter; one sister, Florence I. Rush of Wilmington, Ill.; and one brother, Daniel W. Gunther Jr. of Morton.
Leona had worked in the cafeteria at Blessed Sacrament School, for William Getz Cleaners and Schieler Dairy, all in Morton, for many years.
She was a member of Blessed Sacrament Parish, American Legion Post 318 Auxiliary and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5921 Ladies Auxiliary, all in Morton.
Leona and her husband, Edward, wintered in Mesa, Ariz., from October through May, until selling the home in 2000.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 9, 2013, at Knapp-Johnson Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Morton, with Father Mark DeSutter officiating. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 8 and from 9 to 10 a.m. Friday, both at the funeral home. Burial will be at Roberts Cemetery in Morton.
