ELMWOOD - Marianne B. Jaggard, 82, of Elmwood passed away at 7 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 31, 2014, at Heartland Health Care in Canton.
She was born on April 30, 1931, in Pittsburg, Kan., to Harry and Esther Williams Brentz. They preceded her in death. She married Allan T. Jaggard on March 9, 1956. He preceded her in death on March 22, 2011.
Surviving are four children, Peggy (Tom) Evans of Elmwood, Tom (Chizuko Tsukamoto) Jaggard of Carlock, Gigi Jaggard of Canton and Bruce (Wendy) Jaggard of Dunlap; one brother, Jim (Judy) Brentz of Salt Lake City, Utah; nine grandchildren, Kim (Dave) O'Dell, Mike (Kim) Evans, Jenny (Gary) Blakard, Caleb Parson, Laura Clark, Kyle (Jenny) Wagner, Matthew Jaggard, Michael Jaggard and Danae Jaggard; five great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Also preceding her in death was one brother, Bill.
After graduating from Farmington High School in 1949, she continued her education, graduating from Brown's Business College. She was very artistic and known for her innovative sewing creations and fabric embellishments. She entered national competitions and won many awards for her fabric art. She traveled throughout the country, teaching and attending seminars. Marianne was also an artist, teaching drawing and oil painting. She was also a member of the Elmwood United Methodist Church and a member of the Peoria Chapter of the American Sewing Guild.
A celebration of life will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 8, 2014, at the Oaks-Hines Funeral Home in Elmwood, with a visitation one hour prior. Burial of the ashes will be held at the Elmwood Township Cemetery. Cremation rites have been accorded.
Memorials may be made to the Make a Wish Foundation or to the Children's Hospital of Illinois.
