ASTORIA - Mildred L. "Mid" Foutch, age 87, of Marion, Ill., formerly of Astoria, passed away at 2:17 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 19, 2013, at the Marion Rehabilitation and Nursing Center.
She was born on Feb. 10, 1926, in Woodland Township, Fulton County, Ill., a daughter of Cyrus and Mabel (Miller) Bucher. On Feb. 10, 1948, Mid married James E. Foutch in Peoria, Ill. He preceded her in death on Oct. 8, 1992.
Mid worked at the Farmers State Bank in Astoria for 30 years until her husband became ill. She then took great pride in caring for him and all around her who needed a helping hand.
Mid moved from Astoria to Marion to live with her son, Randy, and his wife, Valerie. Due to her failing health, she moved to River Assisted Living, where again she tried to take care of others who needed assistance. As her Alzheimer's progressed, she was admitted to the nursing home, where she later passed.
Mildred is survived by her son, Randy (and Valerie) Foutch of Marion; granddaughter, Tabatha Hooper of Goreville, Ill.; and grandsons, Cody Foutch of Marion and Justin Deaton of Johnston City, Ill.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, Merland, Lester and Sherman Bucher; and two sisters, Eunice Keim and Merle Bucher.
Graveside services will be held at 3 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 23, 2013, at the Woodland Cemetery. Pastor Gary Sheets will officiate. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the services at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria.
Memorials may be made to the Astoria Rescue Squad.
