Richard Wooden

PEORIA - Richard James Wooden, 64, of Peoria, Ill., passed away Tuesday, June 11, 2013, at his residence.

He was born Jan. 31, 1949, in Peoria, Ill., to Floyd Carl and Dora Louise Suter Wooden.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by sisters, Debbie Isbell of Eden, Ill., and Cindy Bohannan of Dunlap, Ill.; daughter, Robin Segler of Peoria, Ill.; son, Steven Wooden of Brimfield, Ill.; grandchildren, Steven, Cody, Shane, Jessica, Chelsea and Dillon; aunts, Maxine Wooden of Peoria, Ill., Thelma Kellenberger of Farmington, Ill., and Marge Runge of Florida; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Richard served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Vietnam War and was a recipient of the Purple Heart.

He worked for Caterpillar Inc., retiring Jan. 12, 2002.

Cremation has been accorded, and a celebration of life will be held Saturday, June 22, 2013, at 120 S. Isbell St., Hanna City, IL 61536, from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m.

The Cremation Society of Mid-Illinois Co. Pekin/Peoria is assisting the family with arrangements.
