PEORIA HEIGHTS - Robert Fulton, age 87, of Peoria Heights passed away on Friday, Jan. 4, 2013, in Lafayette, Ind.
Robert was born on July 16, 1925, in Kewanee, Ill., to William A. and Nellie (Beryl) Fulton. He married Mary Lou Spillman on Nov. 18, 1950, in Tremont, Ill.
Robert is survived by his daughter, Cindy Treece of Rossville, Ind.; daughter-in-law, Joan Fulton; four grandchildren, Angie, Jason, David and Jennifer; great-grandson, Landon; one brother, Fred Fulton; and one sister, Wilma (Jim) Thurman, both of Kewanee.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Mary Lou; his son, Mark Fulton; two brothers, Myron and Donald; and one sister, Dorothy.
Robert served as a seaman first class in the United States Navy during World War II, where he received a Purple Heart.
He was a warehouse auditor for WABCO.
Robert was an avid golfer, he coached baseball and in 2007 he was inducted in the Hall of Fame of his high school for football. Robert had a great sense of humor and will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
Services will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2013, at 12 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Peoria. The Rev. Cheri Grizzard will be officiating. Visitation will be held two hours prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in Swan Lake Memory Gardens in Peoria.
