PEORIA - Thomas J. Maushard, 80, of Peoria died peacefully at 3:40 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 20, 2014, at Rosewood Care Center in East Peoria with his family by his side.
Thomas was born on Aug. 18, 1934, in Peoria to Eugene J. and Lovey (Behrendt) Maushard. He married Nancy Spainhower on Aug. 30, 1958, at St. John Catholic Church in Peoria. She survives.
He is also survived by his children, Lawrence (Manijeh) Maushard of Portland, Ore., Thomas (Rhonda) Maushard of Peoria, Susan (David) Buchanan of Chillicothe, Jerry (Angela) Maushard and Jon Maushard, both of Peoria, Joe (Jen) Maushard of West Peoria and Molly Maushard; 12 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two brothers, his twin, Robert (Kathleen) Maushard, and Gerald (Janie) Maushard, both of Peoria; and one sister, Mary (Mike) Aaron of Baltimore.
He was preceded in death by his grandson, Jake.
Tom was a dedicated family man, devout Roman Catholic parishioner and avid Chicago Cubs and Bears fan.
He attended St. Cecilia Grade School and was a 1952 graduate of Spalding Institute. He received a bachelor's degree in business from St. Ambrose University.
He worked at Central Fixture Co. in Peoria, where he was a retired vice president and co-owner for more than 40 years.
Tom was a member of St. Philomena Catholic Church and its men's club. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus, St. Jude Council 4333, Third Degree.
He was a U.S. Army veteran.

A funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 25, 2014, at St. Philomena Catholic Church. Father David Richardson will officiate. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. today, Aug. 24, 2014, at Wright & Salmon Mortuary. An additional visitation will be one hour prior to the Mass at the church. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery in West Peoria.
