PEORIA - Walter "Dip" Fisher, 76, of Peoria passed away at 1:05 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 8, 2014, at his home.
He was born on March 2, 1937, in Tchula, Miss., to the late Joseph Fisher and May Ida Woodson.
Walter loved to spend time with family and friends. He loved fishing, barbecuing and traveling. His favorite word to all that knew him and loved was "BABY."
He was last employed and retired from Behr Peoria Inc.
He leaves to cherish his precious memories two daughters, Gloria (Edward) Duff of West Chicago and Aljean Sinclair of Minnesota; six sisters, Marie Booker of Peoria, Earnestin Randle of Moreno Valley, Calif., Martha (Chuck) Williams of La Verne, Calif., Mary Woodson and Eula Woodson, both of Peoria, and Claudia Woodson of Long Beach Calif.; a dear and special friend, Peggy Wise; eight grandchildren; and a host of great-grandchildren; along with a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends who loved and adored him.
Walter was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.
The home-going services celebrating Walter's life will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 15, 2014, at T.W. Parks Colonial Chapel, 201 N. MacArthur Highway, Peoria, Ill., with visitation commencing one hour prior at 12 noon. The Rev. Arthur Williams will officiate. Walter will be laid to rest in Lutheran Cemetery, 914 S. Pleasant St., Peoria, Ill.
