WILLIAMSFIELD - William R. "Bill" Hale, 68, of Williamsfield died at 10:40 p.m. Sunday, June 2, 2013, at UnityPoint Health-Methodist in Peoria.
Bill was born Nov. 11, 1944, in Galesburg, the son of Robert M. and Maxine Canon Hale. He first married Peggy Ott in April of 1963. He then married Cynthia S. Camp on Dec. 1, 1984, in the Monica United Methodist Church. She survives.
Also surviving are three sons, Todd (Marsha) Hale of Montgomery, Texas, Troy (Becky) Hale of Knoxville, Ill., and Travis (Jenna) Hale of Hanna City, Ill.; six grandchildren, Tyson, Tristen, Kaley, Andrew, Allison, and Laken; three great-grandchildren; four sisters, Sandy Swank of Galesburg, Ill., Bobbie (Walter) Philbee of Elmore, Ill., Sherry (Jack) Bremer of Oak Run, Ill., and Judy (Ronnie) Rice of Victoria, Ill.; and his mother-in-law, Leatha Camp of Williamsfield, Ill.
He was preceded in death by his parents; stepparents, Tom Sherman and Maurine Hale; and his father-in-law, Everett Camp.
Bill first worked for the state of Illinois and the Williamsfield Elevator. He retired in 2006 as the maintenance man for the village of Williamsfield.
He loved hunting, trapping, ginseng hunting, mushroom hunting and bank pole fishing on the Spoon River. Bill enjoyed cooking and was known for his great present wrapping skills at Christmas time.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 6, 2013, at Williamsfield United Methodist Church. The Rev. Jennifer Seder and The Rev. Randy Douglass will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, June 5, 2013, at Hammitt-Hott Funeral Home in Princeville, and one hour prior to funeral services at the church. Burial will be in Princeville Cemetery in Princeville.
