CHILLICOTHE - William "Bill" Morris Parr, 92, of Chillicothe, Ill., died on Monday, March 18, 2013, at Proctor Hospital in Peoria, Ill.
He was born on March 16, 1921, in Bainbridge, Ga., to Keith and Mary Parr.
He grew up in Bloomington, Ind., attending schools in Bloomington. He graduated from Bloomington High School. He later attended Indiana University and ICC in Peoria.
He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII in the North Atlantic.
He married Charlotte Lovejoy in Kokomo, Ind., on July 4, 1948.
Surviving are wife, Charlotte Parr of Chillicothe, Ill.; daughters, Christine Parr of Lander, Wyo., and Marian (Tommie) Edwards of Bartonville, Ill.; sons, Thomas Parr of Chillicothe, Ill., and David Parr of Peoria, Ill.; grandchildren, Elizabeth (Daniel) Viktora, Renee Parr, Jacob Parr, Margaret Schreiber and Benjamin Christian (deceased); and great-grandchildren, Stephen, Abigayle, Cora, William and Mitchell.
Bill worked in advertising from 1950 to 1970. Bill and his wife, Charlotte, owned and operated Parr Silkscreen Graphics in Chillicothe from 1970 to his retirement in 1987.
He was an avid reader who loved nature and science.
Cremation has been accorded and a celebration of life will be planned at a later date. The Cremation Society of Mid-Illinois Co. Pekin/Peoria is assisting the family with arrangements.
