Brandon Tovar Obituary

PEORIA - Brandon Alexander Tovar, age 23, of Dunlap, formerly of Marietta, Ga., passed away Tuesday, May 20, 2014, at his residence, surrounded by his family.

Born Jan. 28, 1991, in Marietta, Ga., he was a son to Amie Snyder and the late Sean Hendrick.

Brandon was an avid sports fan, especially a Georgia Bulldogs fan, who dreamed of one day being a sports recruiter.

He loved to fish, travel and listen to music. Brandon helped coach football in high school, and will be remembered as a person who never knew a stranger.

Survivors include his mother and stepfather, Amie (Mark) Snyder of Dunlap; four brothers, Logan Snyder of Kennesaw, Ga., Nathan Snyder and Seth Snyder, both of Dunlap, and Chase Hendrick of Marietta, Ga.; maternal grandparents, Debi Torres of San Diego, Calif., and Joe Tovar of Tucson, Ariz.; paternal grandmother, Peggy Hendrick of Austell, Ga.; four uncles, Joey Tovar, Andre Tovar, Eric Tovar and Christian Tovar; as well as aunts, Steffany Torres, Missy Atkinson, Starla and Tina Hendrick.

Brandon was preceded in death by his father; paternal grandfather, Gary Hendrick; and maternal great-grandmother, Patsy Ruth Laird.

Cremation rites have been accorded per the wishes of Brandon.

Memorials may be made in Brandon's memory to TEAM Mal, GTF, c/o Cheryl Belair, 500 Sugar Mill Road, Suite 170A, Atlanta, GA 30350.

Cremation arrangements have been made under the direction and care of Schmidt-Haller Burial and Cremation Services in Peoria.

Bran, You were and always will be a light in the hearts of all your family and friends. You were a blessing to so many people. Your sweet smile will be missed. I miss you all the time. One year older than Kaleb you acted like a big brother always bossing and correcting him.....while observing fish you corrected Kaleb: NO Taleb, not "PISH' its "SISH"! And, he knew you were right.
At car dealership you found a new mustang. Salesman had to promise to save for you until you could drive. You left happy and secure in fact that the car was yours. lol there's so many adorable things you said and did that brought joy to me, PaPa, and everyone else.

I met Brandon for the first time at the Atlanta airport. I had been asked to pick him up on my way to Vicky Jordan's house. We both had a picture of the other to help us identify each other. I thought this would be an awkward ride not knowing what we would talk about. I knew of his health issues and thought he would be weak, sickly and depressed. Nothing could be further from the truth. Brandon was full of life. He didn't mention health issues he had had since birth. He wasn't depressed and sickly. He was full of life and talked to me like he had known me all his life. I don't believe he ever met a stranger. Brandon lived life to the fullest. He made every second count. He touched many lives and will be terribly missed.

Me and Brandon were fishing one day and his bobber went under the water. I said "Brandon...your bobber's under." He said "I know I'm going to let him take it." as soon as he said those words, his fishing line broke. I said "Well he took it." Brandon's face was priceless and he said "That was my favorite bobber." That wasn't the best part. The bobber was floating on top of the water and the fish was swimming just far enough to where we couldn't get it. It seemed like the fish was taunting Brandon and he was calling it all sorts of names. We couldn't stop laughing. Brandon, I will forever love you. You broght love, happiness, and a greater purpose in life for me and PaPa. Even all the wee hours of the morning trips to the hospital (always scary) were a blessing just taking care of you.
