PEORIA - Mr. Garrison "Butch" Collins, 63, of Peoria, IL, passed away on Tuesday, February 28, 2017, at his residence.
Butch was born on May 28, 1953, to James and Joann (Welch) Collins in Dyersburg, TN.
Butch was a Navy veteran. He was a current member of St. Paul Baptist Church in Peoria, IL, where he served in the United Voices Choir, Men of Excellence Praise Team and the Drama Ministry.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, March 10, 2017, at his church, with a visitation at 10 a.m. Pastor Deveraux Hubbard will officiate.

Butch, my dearest and longest life long friend. We shared so much since our high school days and I will miss you so much my dear brother. Yes indeed, you were like a brother to me in every way. My deepest sympathy to the wonderful family you leave behind and may God Bless and comfort them at this very difficult time. I know you are at peace and will continue to look down on us from above. Butch was a very special friend of mine and my husband's. We spent years together in the Navy in Hawaii.
I am so brokenhearted! I didn't want to believe what I saw on FB.
