HANNA CITY - Clarence William "Bill" Polhemus, 86, of Hanna City, Ill., passed away at 7:18 p.m. Tuesday, July 16, 2013, at Farmington Country Manor in Farmington.

He was born Nov. 26, 1926, in Rapatee, Ill., to Clarence D. and Grace (Elliot) Polhemus. Bill married Bonnie J. Cady on March 21, 1954, in Brimfield. She preceded him in death in 2005.

Surviving are two sons, Brad (Diane) Polhemus of Farmington and Scott (Kathy) Polhemus of Congerville; three grandchildren, Jill Kestner, Jennifer Kuzniar and Joshua Polhemus; and six great-grandchildren.

Also preceding him in death were his parents, three brothers and one sister.

Bill was a barber for more than 50 years.

He was a member of the Hanna City United Methodist Church, Hanna City American Legion and the Hanna City Fire Department.

He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and received the Purple Heart.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 20, 2013, at the Hanna City United Methodist Church, with visitation one hour prior. The Rev. Walter Wilkins will officiate. Burial with military honors will be in Smithville Cemetery in Hanna City.

Memorials may be made to the Hanna City Fire Department.
