PEORIA - Bobby D. Wilkey, 79, of Peoria passed away at 12:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 17, 2011, at his home in Peoria.
He was born on Feb. 14, 1932, in Mount Vernon, Ill., to Joicy (Monday) Wilkey and was raised by his mother and stepfather, Leo Conner. He married Lilliana Espritu on April 8, 1961, in Bloomington, Ill. She preceded him in death on March 24, 2009.
He also was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Donna; and one son, Edward.
Surviving are two daughters, Paula (David) Wilkey-Eckhardt and Mary Miller of Peoria; and one son, Clement (Joanne) Keith of Mesa, Ariz. Also surviving are 10 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandson and numerous cousins.
Bobby served in the U.S. Air Force and worked as an electrician for 32 years with Caterpillar Inc. until retiring in 1987. He then worked for six years in the maintenance department at Proctor Hospital and with Cloyd Homan and Bob Reinhart of Reinhart Electric.
Bobby was a member of the Bible Holiness Church in South Pekin, where he served on the church board.
He enjoyed reading and golfing and was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and was devout in his faith in God.
A service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 22, 2011, with visitation one hour prior to the service at Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel. The Rev. Bobby Jones and the Rev. Wayne Knipmeyer will officiate. Burial will follow the service in Smithville Cemetery in Smithville, Ill.
