Christopher Allen Obituary

BELLEVUE - Christopher Lee Allen of Bellevue, Ill., passed away Tuesday, May 7, 2013, at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center.

Christopher was born Feb. 23, 1976, to Oldfield W. Jr. and Velma J. (Hearn) Allen.

Christopher married Jamie L. Cotter on June 27, 2009. She survives, along with one son, Cameron Pistole, and one daughter, Peyton Marie.

Also surviving are his parents, Oldfield (Barney) and Velma (Hearn) Allen; and brothers, Brian L. Allen of Champaign, Ill., Anthony (Karla) Allen of Peoria, Ill., and Irving Dale (Jennifer) Allen of East Peoria, Ill. He is also survived by two nephews, Evin Washington and A.J. Allen; and two nieces, Olivia Allen and A'mya Allen. He is also survived by his father-in-law, Gary Cotter, and mother-in-law, Chris (Tony) Johnson; brother and sister-in-law, Jeff and Lindy Vonk; and grandmother, Betty Cotter. Chris is also survived by his Aunt Esther Hearn, who helped raise him. He is also survived by a multitude of uncles, aunts and cousins.

Chris was preceded in death by his grandparents, Oldfield W. Sr. and Dolly Allen and Arnee and Rosetta Hearn.

Chris graduated from Peoria High School in 1994. He attended Illinois Central College.

He was co-owner and operator of Barney's Auto Service in Peoria.

Chris enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He loved fishing and sometimes he would even catch one or two. He also enjoyed going to the drag races with his dad and his brothers.

Chris was a member of Prince of Peace MB Church.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, May 15, 2013, at Prince of Peace MB Church, 711 E. Arcadia Ave., Peoria, Ill. Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. with services beginning at 11 a.m.

The Rev. Simon J. Holly will bring the eulogy. Chris will be laid to rest in Parkview Cemetery. The family has chosen T.W. Parks Colonial Chapel to handle the final arrangements of their loved one.

A memorial scholarship fund has been set up for his children at South Side Bank in Peoria, Ill.
