PRINCEVILLE - Denise M. J. Comerford, 50, of Princeville passed away at 5:57 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 20, 2012, at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center.

She was born April 9, 1962, in Chicago to Norbert and the late Gertrude (Karczynski) Jarocki.

She leaves behind a husband, Rex A. Comerford; one beautiful daughter, Carleigh Grace; two sisters, Caryn Jarocki of Highlands Ranch, Colo., and Audrey (Eric) Haugan of Elgin, Ill.; one brother, Andrew (Elizabeth) Jarocki of Deerfield, Ill.; 14 nieces and nephews; two great-nephews and one great-niece.

She will be remembered fondly by many, many friends and relatives for her great laugh, tenacious character and warm, caring heart.

Denise grew up in Schiller Park, Ill. She graduated from East Leyden High School in 1980, Bradley University in 1984 and Rush Presbyterian in 1986. She received her doctorate in audiology from the Arizona School of Health Sciences.

She was owner and founder of Sound Choice Hearing.

Denise was a tri-athlete, Girl Scout leader, on the Board of Directors of the Pekin Chamber of Commerce and member of the Parkview Ladies Golf League in Pekin. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Kickapoo.

Visitation will be Monday, Sept. 24, 2012, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Wright & Salmon Mortuary in Peoria. Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 25, 2012, at St. Mary's Church. The Rev. Joseph Dondanville will officiate. Additional visitation will be one hour before services on Tuesday. Cremation rites will be accorded.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Starkey Hearing Foundation, Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation or to Breast Cancer Research Foundation.
