METAMORA - Doris J. (Roddis) Burton, 70, of Decatur, stepmother of a Metamora man, died Sunday, Feb. 9, 2014, at her residence.
A memorial Mass will be held at 11 a.m. today, Feb. 12, 2014, at Holy Family Catholic Church in Decatur, Ill., with the Rev. Joe Molloy celebrating. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until time of services at the church. Private burial will be in Mount Gilead Cemetery in Decatur, Ill.
Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home will be assisting the family with arrangements.
Memorials may be made to Holy Family Catholic Church or Holy Family School.
Doris was born Nov. 26, 1943, in Decatur, Ill., the daughter of Richard F. and W. Jean (Smith) Roddis. She married Philip B. Burton on Sept. 25, 1981.
She retired as a nurse anesthetist from St. Mary's Hospital in Decatur.
Doris was a volunteer at Cancer Care Specialists of Central Illinois.
She is survived by her stepsons, David and wife, Peggy, of Moweaqua, Ill., Douglas and wife, Karen, of Wheatfield, Ind., and Dr. Dennis and wife, Julie, of Metamora, Ill.; mother, W. Jean Roddis; three sisters, Geri Shane (Bob) of Washington, Ill., Mary Williams (Bob) of Peoria, Ill., and Lisa Roddis of Decatur; one brother, John Roddis of Monticello; sisters-in-law, Liz Burns of Franktown, Colo., Janice Roddis of Decatur, Ill., and Marti Mallory (Shannon) of Indian Wells, Calif.; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father; husband, Philip; and one brother, Rick.
