Toulon - Doris J. Loomis, 84, of Toulon died at 3:55 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 5, 2011, at Toulon Rehabilitation & Health Care Center.
Doris was born Oct. 14, 1926, in Pearsall, Texas, the daughter of John and Grace Hamilton Duke. She married John L. Loomis on Dec. 26, 1948, in Texarkana, Texas. He died in 1971.
Surviving are three daughters, Linda (Mike) Carter of Morton, Nancy (John) Hatfield of Galva and Susan (Dave) Graham of Oak Lawn. Also surviving are six granddaughters, Sarah, Mary and Della Cronin, Maggie (Aaron) Rice, Sommer (Tim) Nelson and Katie (Jeff) Sobotka; and two great-grandsons, Cole and Grady Sobotka.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Mary Mullins.
Doris was a school bus driver for the Toulon Public Schools.
She enjoyed woodworking.
A memorial visitation will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 8, 2011, at Toulon Funeral Home. Burial will be in Toulon Cemetery at a later date. Cremation has been accorded.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Toulon Meals on Wheels program.
