PEORIA - Elizabeth Marion Bolton (nee Salzgeber), 94, of Peoria passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Nov. 19, 2013, at Independence Village in Peoria, Ill.
Visitation and memorial service will be Saturday, Dec. 7, 2013, at Salem Lutheran Church in Peoria. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m., with memorial service at 12 noon. Interment will be at Roberts Cemetery in Morton, Ill. Pastors Elise Rothfusz and David Hofer will officiate.
She was born Aug. 14, 1919, in Chicago, the daughter of August and Barbara Salzgeber, and was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. She married the Rev. Tressler S. Bolton on Oct. 14, 1939, in Chicago, Ill.
Surviving are her children, Karl Bolton (Brigitte) of Ballwin, Mo., Lois Ulrich of Petoski, Mich., Ann Mumper (David) of Ottawa, Ill., and John Bolton (Debra) of Columbia, Mo. Also surviving are her grandchildren, Corinne, Elin, Shaun, Luke, Eric, Aaron and Micah; and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; an infant son; her sister, Mildred Kellner; and brothers, Frederick, Edwin and Robert.
She worked at home as a Lutheran pastor's wife for more than 40 years and had enthusiastically served the church since her teens. She proudly served as president of Illinois Lutheran Church Women in the 1970 to 1972 biennium.
