PEKIN - Euple Beasley, 88, of Pekin passed away at 11 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 15, 2011, at Kountry View Retirement Home in Hanna City.
Born May 12, 1923, in Henderson County, Tenn., to John H. and Sarah F. (Hicks) Britt, she married Earl M. Beasley in Henderson, Tenn., on Nov. 2, 1940. He preceded her in death in 2004.
She was also preceded in death by four brothers and five sisters.
Surviving are three children, Jerry (Mary) Beasley of Pekin, Carol Beasley of Peoria and Cathey (Harry) Edwards of Pekin; six grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; one sister, Ruthie Scott of Martin, Tenn.; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to being a homemaker, she worked at the Libby's plant in Morton, Peoria Plastics, Stafford's Dairy in Pekin, and did home nursing.
Euple was a member of the McArthur Drive Baptist Church in North Pekin. She was instrumental in establishing Holiday Hills School for the handicapped in Pekin and served on the board.
She loved to quilt, making a quilt for all of her children, daughter-in-law, son-in-law and grandchildren, crocheting, and making ceramics. But her greatest joy was spending time with her family.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, Sept. 19, 2011, at Davison-Fulton Woolsey Funeral Home in Pekin. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 20, at the funeral home, with Pastor Bobby Barnhill officiating. Burial will be at Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin.
