Harley Fishel Obituary

MINIER - Harley E. Fishel, 84, of Peoria, Ariz., formerly of Minier, Ill., passed away Wednesday, Nov. 13, 2013, in Peoria, Ariz.

He was born April 4, 1929, in Minier to Miley and Helen Campbell Fishel.

He was preceded in death by his parents; children, Shirlee and Carol Ann; his first wife, Marilyn Tromp Fishel; three sisters; and three brothers.

Harley is survived by his beloved wife, Dorothy Cremeens Fishel of Peoria, Ariz. Also surviving are four children, Sandra (Darrel) Brandon of Clay City, Shari Wilkerson of Morton, Sheila (Kevin) Birmingham of Morton and Tim (Amber) Fishel of Chillicothe; one brother, John (Laura) Fishel of Morton; 11 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Harley retired as manager from Caterpillar Inc. after 38 years of service.

He has been a Christian all his life, served as a deacon and elder for several years. He was also on the Mission Board for many years and took several mission trips.

He was in the National Guard.

He was presently a member of First Christian Church in Sun City, Ariz.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. at Minier Christian Church in Minier, Ill., on Saturday, Nov. 23, 2013. Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. prior to the services at the church. Burial will be at the Minier Cemetery. Haensel Funeral Home in Minier is assisting the family with arrangements.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials may be made to Ripe for Harvest or Haitian Christian Outreach.
