ROSEVILLE - Irma Jeanne Bacon, 91, of Roseville died Sunday, Jan. 20, 2013, at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria, Ill.
She was born Aug. 7, 1921, in Roseville, Ill., the daughter of Everett Earl and Ethel Marie Pratt Stice. She married Robert Argast Bacon on April 11, 1943, in Roseville. He preceded her in death on June 14, 1977.
She is survived by her children, Karen Martin of Mount Pleasant, Iowa, Aleta Bacon of Peoria, Ill., Bob Bacon of Hillsborough, N.C., Jane Bycroft of Waxhaw, N.C., and Vickie Bacon of Pocahontas, Ill. She has five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Also surviving is one sister, Marilouise Forbriger of Kettering, Ohio.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and two sisters, Evelyn Kniss and Martha Ross.
She graduated from St. Mary's Hospital School of Nursing in Burlington, Iowa. She was a registered nurse. She worked for the LaMoine Christian Nursing Home as director of nursing and also worked at Monmouth Hospital and in Dr. Roller's office.
She loved to travel and traveled around the world after her retirement. She was an active member of the Roseville Christian Church. She loved to make pies and was a renowned pie maker. She loved to read and crochet. She and her husband farmed for many years in Point Pleasant Township.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2013, at 10 a.m. at the Roseville Christian Church. Visitation will be Tuesday, Jan. 22, 2013, at the Corman Memorial Home in Roseville from 5 to 7 p.m. Burial will be in Roseville Memorial Park Cemetery.
