PEORIA - Jack W. Andres, 82, of Peoria, Ill., passed away Wednesday, March 14, 2012, at his residence.
Jack was born on Nov. 24, 1929, in Peotone, Ill., to Robert and Velma (Hardway) Andres and grew up in Joliet, Ill. He married Dolores Campen on Dec. 28, 1956, in California.
Jack is survived by his wife Dolores of Peoria, Ill.; daughter, Marie Andres of Evanston, Ill.; sisters, Lois Warren of Medford, Ore., and Anita Layman of Lander, Wyo.; nieces, Sarah and Lisa; and nephews, David and Jon.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents and nephew, Tom.
Jack was a graduate of Bradley University, where he received his master's degree in mechanical engineering in 1965.
Jack later went to work for Caterpillar Tractor Company as a mechanical engineer, working for more than 20 years. After retiring from Caterpillar, he went to work for the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency, monitoring air quality in central Illinois.
A graveside service will be at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, March 18, 2012, at Parkview Cemetery in Peoria, Ill.
