CREVE COEUR - Jacob Aaron Arnett, 19, of Creve Coeur passed away at 6:20 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 11, 2012, at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria.
He was born Oct. 18, 1993, in Peoria to Merri Christine Hamilton and Jeff A. Arnett.
Surviving are his mother, Chris Hamilton; his father, Jeff Arnett; and one brother, Matthew A. Ping, all of Creve Coeur. He also leaves numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
His grandparents preceded him in death.
Jacob was a 2012 graduate of East Peoria Community High School.
His passion was playing baseball, and he was proud to be a member of the Illinois Central College baseball team. He was unfortunately unable to fulfill has position at pitcher when his cancer returned. He was a fan of the St. Louis Cardinals.
A self-taught pianist and an avid reader, Jacob aspired to be a motivational speaker and was interested in philosophy. He liked bowling, weightlifting and listening to music. He also enjoyed playing a lot of video games. No matter the circumstances in his life, he was always courageous and an inspiration for others. Jacob will be greatly missed by many.
He was a member of Eastside Bible Church in Morton.
His funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Eastside Bible Church in Morton. The Rev. Steve Weber will officiate. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Creve Coeur. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery in Peoria.
