MORTON - Jean Viemont Kruse McConkey, 86, of Morton, Ill., passed away Friday, Aug. 10, 2012, at Apostolic Christian Restmor in Morton.
Jean was born March 8, 1926, in Mackinaw to Howard and Gertrude Blair Viemont. They preceded her in death.
Also preceding her in death were three sisters, Margaret (Chuck) Kerlin, Mary (Wes) Naffziger, Betty (Trellis) Geurin; and two brothers, JT Viemont and Francis Hugh Viemont.
Jean married Wayne Kruse on June 2, 1946. Jean and Wayne had one daughter, Karen (Ron) Gingrich of Tremont; one son, Douglas (Gerry) Kruse of Morton; seven grandchildren, Joe (Erin) Gingrich, Jason Gingrich, Chad Gingrich, Gail (Ralph) Gingrich Israel, April (Brad) Kruse Hartter, Haley (David "Tater") Kruse Kieser and Jessie (Tim) Kruse Mueller; and 18 great-grandchildren, Jenna Gingrich, Jill Gingrich, Garett Gingrich, Harley Gingrich, Ezra Israel, Chloe Israel, Silas Israel, Trinity Israel, Clayton Hartter, Gabe Hartter, Alaina Hartter, Landon Kieser, Elle Kieser, Briana Kieser, Paisley Kieser, Kailie Mueller, Rya Mueller and Cruz Mueller.
Wayne passed away in 1969. She later married Walter McConkey. He passed away in 1990.
Jean worked for Morton Realty for 14 years, Grimm TV & Appliance in Morton for 14 years and Morton Community Bank for nine years.
Jean was an active member of Mackinaw Christian Church for 73 years.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Aug. 13, 2012, at Mackinaw Christian Church. The Rev. David Jassman will officiate. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. today, Sunday, Aug. 12, at Mackinaw Christian Church. Burial will be in Mackinaw Township Cemetery. Haensel Funeral Home in Mackinaw is assisting the family with arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to her church, Apostolic Christian Restmor or Apostolic Christian Timber Ridge.
The family would like to express their appreciation for the love, support and tender loving care extended to Jean by all of her caregivers at Apostolic Christian Restmor.
