MACKINAW - June E. Barrick, 87, of Mackinaw, Ill., died Saturday afternoon, Dec. 31, 2011, at her home, surrounded by her family.
June was born Dec. 1, 1924, in Canton, Ohio, to Harold and Goldie Hull Riley. She married Leslie Barrick Jr. He preceded her in death.
Also preceding her in death were her parents.
June is survived by two daughters, Susan (Michael) Morrison of Mackinaw and Judy (David) Aeschlimann of Delavan; two sons, Andrew (Vickie) Barrick of Mount Zion and John Barrick of Mackinaw; eight grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Freda Greer of Mackinaw and Alma Wilson of Hopedale; one brother, Lester (Virginia) Riley of Pekin; and her longtime friend, Bob Farlin of South Pekin.
June worked at Caterpillar Tractor Co. for 30 years, retiring in 1992.
She was a 75-year member of Mackinaw Christian Church, Red Hat Society, Mackinaw Young at Heart Club and Mackinaw Monday Night Bible Study.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 5, 2012, at Mackinaw Christian Church. The Rev. Amy Johnson will officiate. Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Wednesday also at the Christian Church. Burial will be in Mackinaw Township Cemetery.
Haensel Funeral Home in Mackinaw is assisting the family with arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to her church or Mackinaw Rescue Squad.

June was a special lady, she will be missed. My thought and prayers go to her family and friends. June always had a smile on her face, what a lovely person. So sorry for your loss.
