CANTON - Ketra E. Lingenfelter, 72, of Canton died at 10:20 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 30, 2013, at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria.
She was born May 6, 1941, in Canton, to Arthur "Art" and Velma (Grigsby) Meins. She first married Jack Torurtillott, who preceded her in death. She then married David Wheeler and later married Gene Lingenfelter.
Ketra is survived by her husband, Gene Lingenfelter, of Canton; four children, Lori Collins of Canton, Pam Dowell of Aurora, Colo., Stephen Wheeler of Canton and Amy Wheeler of Illinois; three stepchildren, Barbra Wheeler, Cindy Lock and Rick (Miranda) Lingenfelter, all of Canton; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; five stepgrandchildren; three stepgreat-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and her beloved cats and dog.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Karen Lowe.
Ketra retired from Kmart in Canton.
She adored animals, especially her cats.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 3, 2014, at Oaks-Hines Funeral Home in Canton, with the Rev. Rick Atchley officiating. Visitation will be held Thursday evening at the funeral home from 5 to 7 p.m. Burial will be at White Chapel Memory Gardens in Canton.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Fulton County Humane Society.
