WASHINGTON - Louise M. Bumgarner, 95, formerly of Mackinaw, IIl., passed away Friday, July 22, 2011, at Washington Christian Village in Washington, Ill., where she had been a resident for the last three years.
Louise was born May 12, 1916, in Mackinaw, a daughter of John and Amelia (Thaller) Giles. She married Wilbur D. Fisher on Jan. 17, 1933. He preceded her in death July 23, 1970. She later married Donald R. Bumgarner on March 25, 1978. He preceded her in death on July 17, 1994.
Also preceding her in death were her parents; a brother and his wife, Leslie (Lavina) Giles; and two sisters and their husbands, Agnes (Albert) Laue and Elizabeth (Delmar) Hay.
Louise is survived by one daughter, Phyllis (Bobby) Colclasure; one son, John (Karen) Fisher; six grandchildren, Evelyn (Michael) Dotson, Ann (Daniel) Schwarting, Lori (Dale) Faughn, Tom (Melinda Morris) Weishaupt, Christine (Ryan) Roosma, and Timothy Fisher; eighteen great-grandchildren, and eight great, great-grandchildren. Also surviving is one step-daughter, Freda (Nick) DeGeorge, their sons and families; four step-granddaughters and their families, Beverly Muir, Janett (Michael) McDonald, Ronda (Ronald) Addison, Lori (Mark) Chojnacky; and one step-grandson, Steven Colclasure and his family.
Louise was a member of the Mackinaw United Methodist Church and had been active in the United Methodist Women. She worked as a cook in the cafeteria at Deer Creek-Mackinaw High School from 1962 to 1978.
Services will be at 7 p.m. Monday at Mackinaw United Methodist Church. The Rev. Joy Schlesselman is officiating. Visitation will be two hours prior to services Monday at the Methodist Church. Burial will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin. Haensel Funeral Home in Mackinaw is assisting the family with arrangements.
The family suggests in lieu of flowers that memorials be made to the Mackinaw United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 382, Mackinaw, IL, 61755 or to Washington Christian Village, 1201 New Castle Road, Washington, IL 61571.
