PEORIA - Mary Jane Anderson, 75, of Peoria passed away at 6 a.m. on Thursday, May 10, 2012, at Snyder Village Nursing Home in Metamora.
Mary Jane was born on Jan. 8, 1937, in Bloomington to William M. Jr., and Fern G. (Bean) Anderson. She was preceded in death by her beloved parents.
She is survived by her brother, William M. (Joan) Anderson III of Morton; four nephews, William M. Anderson IV, Robert (Toni) Anderson, Brian Anderson and John (Nancy) Anderson; and many great-nephews and -nieces.
Mary Jane was a 1955 graduate of Holy Trinity High School in Bloomington. She received her bachelor's degree and master's degree in speech pathology from Illinois State University. She was a member of "Theta Chapter of Alpha Delta Kappa" Professional Association.
Mary Jane worked for District 150 for 25 years, Bradley University for three years and Illinois State University for nine years helping children as a speech therapist. Mary was the most considerate, kind, and courageous person ever. She was a true gift of God.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. on Monday, at St. Thomas Catholic Church. The Rev. Thomas Taylor will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior at the church. She will be laid to rest with a graveside service at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, at Holy Cross Cemetery in Normal.
