CHILLICOTHE - Matthew Clay "Matt" Adams, 28, of Chillicothe passed away at 3 a.m. on Saturday, May 12, 2012, in Chillicothe.
He was born on Sept. 18, 1983, in Peoria to Randy J. and Brenda Rae (Cook) Adams.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Brenda; both of his grandfathers; and two uncles.
He is survived by his father, Randy of Chillicothe; his grandmothers, Marie Adams of Chillicothe and Martha Cook of Carbon Hill, Ala.; several aunts and uncles; and numerous cousins.
Matt was a graduate of IVC High School and received his degree in crime scene technology from ICC. He worked as a dispatcher and crime scene technician for the Chillicothe Police Department for over seven years.
Matt was a high school wrestling star and coached junior wrestling, as well as playing on many Peoria area softball teams.
A visitation will be on Wednesday, May 16, 2012, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Davison-Fulton-Anderson Chapel in Chillicothe. A funeral will be on Thursday, May 17, 2012, at 11 a.m. at the chapel, with Chaplain Ray Harrison officiating. Burial will follow the service in Chillicothe City Cemetery.
